Role: Electrical Engineer (Medical Device)

Location: Chicago, IL

Duration: 6 Months

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Sustaining engineering, electronic component life-cycle management, instrument field complaint investigation and documentation to support these efforts.
• Root cause analysis tools to troubleshoot various levels of electro-mechanical sub- systems and instruments.
• Contribute inputs on a diverse cross functional/cross site team and external contract manufacturers and engineers.
• Demonstrates commitment to the development, implementation and effectiveness of Client Quality Management System per ISO, FDA, and other regulatory agencies.
• Responsible for exhibiting professional behaviour with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company’s policies and practices; build productive internal/external working relationships.
• Works primarily in a standard office or lab environment with air conditioning, good lighting with a low to moderate noise level. May also visit and work in research labs, testing labs, production and other areas as well as vendor facilities as necessary.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• BS in Electrical Engineering, MS preferred; or equivalent experience/combined education
• Generally 3 years of experience in medical device
• Excellent understanding of electrical and mechanical designs and components, and their interactions as a system to meet system performance requirements.
• Conducts measurements specified in test plans, documents and tabulates results, and provides engineering test reports as required.
• Experience in electronics design for test, manufacturing and assembly with an understanding of design impact on EMC, ESD and Immunity.
• Basic understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems and sub-systems.
