Job Title: Manufacturing EngineerLocation: Grand Rapids, MI (Onsite)Duration: Long TermJob DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Grand Rapids, MI. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in supporting equipment suppliers and machine builders, particularly in the realm of semi-automated and automated equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of process development, quality management systems, and medical device manufacturing.

- Collaborate with equipment suppliers and machine builders, providing support from initial kick-off through design and implementation phases.
- Engage in the development and enhancement of semi-automated and automated equipment.
- Develop and optimize processes for various manufacturing technologies including joining technologies, dispensing, cannula tipping, and pad printing.
- Conduct comprehensive print reviews and coordinate with design teams for print updates.
- Work within Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Perform Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), Performance Qualification (PQ), and Test Method Validation (TMV) activities as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality Engineering, to support manufacturing needs and resolve issues related to safety, efficacy, quality, cost, or delivery of components and finished devices.
- Participate in cross-functional project teams, managing and documenting project work and progress, and recommending appropriate revisions.
- Provide manufacturing engineering support for specific projects, including change analysis, risk analysis, and manufacturing readiness assessments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues, ensuring high-quality outputs and adherence to project timelines.
- Apply extensive experience in medical device manufacturing assembly lines to drive process improvements and product support.
- Conduct qualification, verification, and validation activities necessary for producing medical devices.
- Contribute to new product development teams, engaging in technology development, material or product testing, specification preparation, Six Sigma initiatives, process studies, and report preparation.
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field or Master’s degree is a Plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on medical device manufacturing preferred.
- Proven experience working with equipment suppliers and supporting machine builders.
- Expertise in semi-automated and automated equipment and process development.
- Strong background in medical device manufacturing, including assembly line experience.
- Proficiency in Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Hands-on experience with IQ/OQ/PQ/TMV activities.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
