Intensive Education Academy is Hiring an ESY Summer Special Education Teacher Near West Hartford, CT

ESY Summer Special Education Teacher Transition

The Intensive Education Academy (IEA) is currently seeking a Special Education Teacher for its 2024 Extended School Year (ESY) program. This part-time, temporary position reports directly to the ESY Director of Education.

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIREMENTS

  • Must possess or be eligible for CT SPED Certification (065, 165)

Schedule:

  • June 24 to July 25
  • 4 days per week: Monday Through Thursday (except the second week, which is M, W, Th, and F)
  • Time: 8:00 am to 12:00 pm

Salary: $1,075 per week

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction to students requiring special education
  • Support student activities of daily living as specified by goals and objectives
  • Support student academics as specified by goals and objectives
  • Collaborate with Teacher Assistants
  • Manage scheduling for related services as required by students' IEPs
  • Perform observations for collecting diagnostic data
  • Maintain appropriate and ongoing communication with administration, staff, and parents/guardians
