  The Intensive Education Academy (IEA) is currently hiring for the position of ESY Summer Teacher Assistant to assist special education students under the supervision of a special education teacher/ESY Director of Education.

  QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous work experience relating to working with special education students
  • Strong interpersonal skills, team player
  • Applicants must possess an associate's degree, sixty (60) college credits, or proof of passing the ParaPro Assessment
  • The final candidate will have to complete a full background check (DCF, Fingerprinting, Employer Verification)

  Schedule:

  Schedule:

  • June 24 to July 25
  • 4 days per week: Monday Through Thursday (except the second week, which is M, W, Th, and F)
  • Time: 8:00 am to 12:00 pm

Salary: $17.50 per hour

Responsibilities:

Receives oral and written instruction from the supervising teacher(s)

Organizes work according to the school schedule

Receives information from teacher or other certified staff member, and provides feedback to the teacher concerning students' needs and progress

Assists teachers in the preparation of materials for instruction

May sometimes monitor the classroom in the absence of the teacher

May operate audio-visual and technological equipment

May perform related duties as required, based on the educational needs of the students
