Our client is looking for a Network Analyst for a year-long contract role. The role is primarily remote and will periodically require some onsite time at their facility in Eden Prairie, MN.
Candidates will define, design, and implement network communications and solutions within a Data Center. Proposes and implements system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system. The role also entails managing load configuration of central data communication processor and makes recommendations for purchase or upgrade of data networks. Coordinates terminal orders and cable installation, network system planning, installing, monitoring, testing, and servicing. Candidates will also serve as Senior Networking Administrator with a heavy focus on Firewall Administration, and take owner ship of security, patching, server administration with CISCO ASA.Responsibilities include:
  • Approves action requests and specifies purchase requirement.
  • Negotiates and places orders with common carriers.
  • May train other employees on system.
  • Provides technical analysis in data network planning, engineering, and design.
  • Provides analysis for implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to network problems.
  • Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
  • Coordinates third party maintenance for network equipment and troubleshoots problems with department users and department network administrators. May develop uniform operation procedures.
  • Provides operational support for the organization's Local Area Networks (LANs); Wide Area Networks (WANs); and Metro Area Networks (MANs). Monitors LAN, WAN, and MAN performance, maintains security to ensure that procedures are implemented and enforced, and troubleshoots problems.
  • Evaluates and recommends hardware, software and telecommunication equipment that meet users' needs.
  • Delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results.
  • May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower level professionals.
  • Works independently with general supervision on larger, moderately complex projects / assignments.
  • Ensure the network is reliable, scalable, secure, and capable of meeting our current and future business needs.
  • Network Implementation: Implement network solutions, including hardware, software, and configuration changes.
  • Deploy and maintain network components.
  • Capacity Planning: Monitor network capacity requirements and ensure the network can handle increased traffic and new technologies.
  • Security: Implement and maintain firewalls, VPNs, and access controls.
  • Develop and enforce security policies and procedures.
  • Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize network resources for maximum efficiency and reliability.
  • Network Documentation: Create and maintain detailed network documentation, including network diagrams, configuration files, and inventory lists.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network infrastructure with business goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Technology or related field degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience or advanced degree with 0 years of experience.
  • Must experience with Firewall Management and Security.
  • Experience with CISCO ASA and F5 is highly desired.
