About this position

IDB Invest is looking for a technical and business expert to develop, support, and assisting in the execution of new initiatives within technology.The role will work with banking operations, in the support of our loan management platform.The individual will work with a dynamic group of technologist, operations, finance, and business divisions of the bank.

What you’ll do

  • Assist in the support of a Loan Management System.
  • Create and execute complex queries and reports on demand in the Loan Management System Datamart.
  • Run the bank support for a multi-tier software platform from core system, data-warehouse, cash management system and procedures, interfaces, Cloud integrations, and enhancement requests.
  • Work with the technology related support programs, monitoring jobs, end-of-day reports, SQL queries, RESTful web API’s, Azure technologies, etc.
  • Participate on the structure, analysis, planning, and execution against new systems/applications and improvements of existing solutions.
  • Participate in technical evaluations of new products or services to build requirement documents in both business and functional specifications.
  • Create business cases, and prioritization schedules for issues, enhancements, and wish-list.
  • Perform coding and/or configuration to meet documented needs, applying standard procedures and techniques.
  • Participate substantively in testing the functionality of systems being developed and whether requirements gathered and approved are being met.
  • Monitoring of scheduled jobs and troubleshooting of the production issues regarding to the Loan Management System and interfaces with other systems.

What you´ll need: 

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science, information technology, engineering, or business,
  • Experience: with a minimum of 7 years of meaningful experience in Accounting, Banking, Finance and Computer Science. MBA and/or master’s degree is a plus.
  • Languages: English and Spanish 

Requirements

  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab

Selection Criteria:

  • Strong demonstrable experience in loan management servicing, accounting systems, transaction processing, billing, collections, disbursements, repayments, and accounting concepts.
  • Strong demonstrable experience and knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle and SQL Server. Experience in creating SQL complex queries.
  • Ability to structure the support of the business in a structured manner, including running key governance meetings with senior management, user community, and assessing risk.
  • Help building an operational resilience model to ensure support is available 24x7.
  • Technical management of upgrades, patches, release notes to ensure impact assessment across a line business unit.
  • Good Project management skills to help with the execution of new initiatives, i.e. business / functional requirements, road-maps, reporting, tracking, and communications to all stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with personal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work self-sufficiently on assigned tasks.
  • Understanding of public cloud platform architectures and hybrid cloud architectures and concepts (focus on Azure, AWS)
  • Experience in Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices such as Continuous Integration and automated deployment to ensure macro support model.
  • Expertise in Linux and Windows environments, and server administration.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Git and Bitbucket.
  • Knowledge of .Net Solutions with Azure Technologies (microservices architecture), SharePoint Framework (React Framework) and Azure DevOps is a plus.
