Each member of InterAct’s staff fulfills an important role in furthering InterAct’s mission of providing safety, support, and awareness to victims and survivors of domestic and/or sexual violence and the entire community. Saving lives, re-building lives, and securing safer futures. 

Pass It On is an upscale thrift shop that offers new and gently used women’s clothing, shoes, and accessories at fabulously low prices. Pass It On has two locations – Raleigh and Fuquay-Varina – and features a large variety of designer clothing in excellent condition at affordable prices. Ninety cents from every dollar of Pass It On merchandise is donated and supports InterAct’s programs and services.

The Part-Time Retail Sales Associate will have a passion for delivering outstanding Customer service, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn about our products and services.

Responsibilities:

• Opens and closes store as scheduled. 
• Operates computer and POS system.
• Reconciles and validates daily cash receipts and prepares daily bank deposit.
• Compiles and records electronically daily sales report at the end of each day of operation. 
• Receives and assists donors, organizations, and vendors with donations. 
• Knows and implements correctly the process of handling “in-Kind” and “monetary” donations. 
• Sort, process, clean, price, stock and rotate merchandise in the back room and on the sale floor. 
• Organize, arrange and maintain a clean sales floor, donation, and storage areas throughout the day. 
• Communicate with appropriate staff regarding donations received for programs
• Assists Store Manager with planning and promoting merchandise sales. 
• Keep stock of supplies and necessary equipment and place timely purchase orders through Store Manager.
• Maintain a safe work environment throughout the store by following all safety guidelines.
• Assist with performing yearly inventory and reports.
• Inform Store Manager of any concerns and works cooperatively with all departments/programs.
• · Assist with the promotion of store sales, agency events, etc. as needed.
• · Support and gives direction to store volunteers during their scheduled volunteer shifts.
• . Complete required agency training upon hire.
• · Participates in agency continuing education training programs and meetings as assigned. 
• · Other responsibilities as assigned for Store operations.

Requirements

• Commitment to violence-free relationships and ending the cycle of violence in our community.
• Previous retail or customer service experience preferred, but not required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills and proficiency with cash handling.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• A passion for providing exceptional customer service and creating positive experiences for customers and InterAct clients
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel between Fuquay-Varina and Raleigh Stores.
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Experience working with survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual assault is strongly preferred.

Minimum requirements: High School diploma. Valid driver’s license. Candidate must pass a criminal background check that is satisfactory to InterAct standards and adherence to InterAct’s COVID requirements.
