Interactive College of Technology is Hiring a CBT Instructor - Hourly Full-Time Near Morrow, GA

Primary Responsibilities:
Instructs, mentors, and guides students who are enrolled in the CBT courses to successful completion of all courses according to assigned schedules and course completion dates.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Instructs students who are taking CBT courses on campus in the laboratory or via Zoom or another comparable technology. Instructor moves throughout the laboratory and/or observes students on Zoom and responds to students who appear to be having challenges or have questions as they move through the lessons. The key is to be a pro-active instructor.
2. As a general rule, instructors can effectively instruct and advise simultaneously 15-25 enrolled students. This instructor is principally a coach while guiding the student through pre-programmed courses.
3. Administers all required examinations in a timely, compliant manner and provides prompt feedback. Prepares the student to achieve success on their certification examinations. This preparation may require the student to participate in additional preparation sessions as the instructor may need to schedule.
4. At the start of the term, reviews the student schedule, course load, and ensures all classes are part of the student’s academic program. (Becomes familiar with the program sequence guide that is contained in the textbook list.)
5. Reviews academic progress weekly and ensures gradebooks are constantly up-to-date. Be aware some of the students studying remotely may be enrolled in other campuses. Have the same expectations for all students. If needed, reach out to the Director of Education at the student’s home campus. Documents student engagement and participation in student management in the IRIS system.
6. Responsible for routine maintenance and upkeep of the computer laboratory. Reach out to I.T. as needed for repairs or equipment replacement.
7. Students enrolled in the Texas campuses must have a Mid-Semester progress review. If academic progress is unsatisfactory, the student must be notified (under 75% Participation or Success Rate).
8. In week twelve of the semester, counsel with each student as to what is needed to achieve success for the semester and begin discussing the student schedule for the next term/semester. Complete pre-registration as directed and required.
9. The instructors are the faces of the institution. Consistently maintains academic integrity and expectations, always maintaining a high level of “customer service”.
10. Responds to students’ questions within 24 hours as required by the accrediting body.
11. Instructors are expected to engage in Professional Development Activities in order to stay abreast of technology changes and developments within the field.
12. Faculty teaching any technical courses (excludes General Education) are required to liaise with graduate employers/extern sites. Extern sites are often employers of the institutions’ graduates. Two-three visits per year are expected. Documentation of the visit is to be submitted to the Director of Education/Academic Dean. Information is included in the faculty member’s evaluation.
13. Becomes familiar with the institutional Student Catalogs, Faculty Manual, and Student Handbook.
14. Works closely with other members of the academic team to ensure the institution does everything reasonably expected to assist our students in achieving success.
15. Participates, as requested, to serve on Curriculum Review Committees and/or makes curriculum and Media Center recommendations to the Academic Manager.
16. Performs other duties as may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Successful candidate will have a minimum of a B.S. Degree in a related area and will have, or agree to obtain, all relevant certifications. Experience teaching adults is considered very helpful.
Candidates with an A.S. Degree and all certifications may be employed as a Faculty Associate. After one year of successful performance may be promoted to Instructor.
