Intercity Transit is searching for a skilled HR professional with expertise in workers' compensation claim management. This position requires the ability to navigate complex situations with sensitivity and care. The HR Analyst will manage a caseload of complex work-related injury claims and act as a liaison between the agency, healthcare providers, and Labor & Industries (L&I) representatives. Examples of Duties

As a Human Resources Analyst, you will:

  • Administers Agency's protected leave and workers compensation program.
  • Works closely with injured employees to coordinate light duty and early return to work programs. 
  • Administers Stay at Work program and ensures appropriate reimbursements from L&I for participation.
  • Develops partnerships and collaborates with employees, supervisors and HR on employee leave issues. Communicates directly with L&I claims managers and/or medical providers regarding claims status, light duty, and return to regular work duty.
  • Reviews, evaluates, and processes worker's compensation claims. Verifies the accuracy and completion of reports and records and maintains accurate files.
  • Participates in the development, implementation, and day to day administration of human resources policies, procedures and projects. 
  • Provides regular updates and consultation to management.
  • May assist employees with benefit programs including enrollments and changes.
  • Maintains and/or assists with audits and ensures the proper maintenance of personnel records and confidential medical and testing reports.
  • Develops systems and tools to streamline processes.
  • Initiates Personnel Action Forms (PAF's) involving terminations, resignations, promotions, retirements and other employee actions. 
  • Manages recruitment and selection processes. Performs reference and background checks. Prepares and issues job offers and conducts new hire onboarding. 
Typical Qualifications

Are you the one we are looking for?

  • Bachelor's degree in Business administration or a related field AND three (3) years of professional human resources experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as listed above.
  • Must submit a criminal background check the results of which must meet criteria for hiring role. 
  • Knowledge of public sector human resources principles and practices; union contracts and labor agreements administration practices; knowledge of labor laws and the principles and practices of employee and labor relations; knowledge of team development methods and team-based work methods; risk management principles nd practices; applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules and regulations; conflict resolution techniques; budgeting principles and practices; mathematical concepts.
  • Skill in reading analyzing, and interpreting general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations; computer software and database skills; facilitating meetings and training sessions; handling sensitive employee issues; conducting thorough and impartial investigations into employment situations; managing projects; interpreting labor agreements; drafting policies and procedures; maintaining records; preparing reports and business correspondence; defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions and making sound decisions under pressure; communication, collaboration, and strong interpersonal skills.
