Job Description
1. Generate and develop new customer accounts to increase revenue.
2. Penetrate all targeted accounts and radiate sales from within customer base.
3. Call on and meet with select, qualified customers.
4. Overcome objections of prospective customers including, “You’re too high in price.”
5. Build and foster a network of referrals to create new opportunities for revenue growth.
6. Ensure follow-up by passing leads to the Sales Department with calls-to-action, dates, complete profile information, sources, and so on.
7. Always maintain professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to portray the company in a positive manner.
8. Actively manage call schedule to adequately cover assigned accounts in a time-efficient manner.
9. Create accurate records, including trip reports, expense reimbursement, and other documentation.
10. Oversee all marketing, advertising, and promotional activities.
11. Design and implement marketing campaigns.
12. Continually update and/or approve social media for the company.
13. Continually monitor and update the website.
14. Write bi-weekly blogs.
15. Work with Marketing Team to produce new, informational video blogs where you are videoed, training the viewer on the subject at hand.
16. Write monthly newsletters.
17. Send out the customer feedback form, then pull in and process the results.
18. Update annual travel schedule.
19. Coordinate business travel arrangements for InterConnect.
20. Calculate and submit per diem requests for travelers.
21. Process all incoming leads and website hits.
22. Write and maintain process manuals in accordance with predetermined standards.
23. Attend trade shows and when exhibiting, set up and take down booth, being the first to arrive at the show and the last to leave.
24. Send follow-up emails on all leads from trade shows and conferences.
Working Conditions
1. Frequent domestic travel is required; sometimes up to three trips per month.
2. Manual dexterity is required to use laptop computer and peripherals on the road.
3. Occasional lifting of items up to 50 lbs. at trade shows.
4. Overtime as required.

Summary
The Business Development & Marketing Specialist is responsible for two specific activities: 1) Business Development by landing new contracts selling company products and programs through the achievement of opportunity-based sales quotas, and 2) Marketing the company by overseeing all marketing and advertising activities including but not limited to annual aerospace and defense conferences and trade shows. The Business Development and Marketing Specialist will reach his or her business targets through effective management of designated potential customers and physical visits to customer sites. This individual will also develop ongoing, profitable relationships with customers and continually maintain a professional image of the company. Integrity, passion, and in-person presentational skills are essential for this role. Finally, he or she will maintain InterConnect’s website and the content involved, as well as all social media platforms on which the company participates.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or Engineering preferred.
2. 3 years of direct work experience in an external sales and marketing capacity.
3. Experience in the aerospace industry preferred.
4. Demonstrated ability to convert prospects and close deals while maintaining established sales quotas.
5. Professional demeanor, selling style, and appearance.
6. Superior written and verbal communications skills, coupled with highly developed interpersonal skills.
7. Excellent listening skills.
8. Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm.
9. Ability to work in highly competitive industry.
10. Must possess a valid driver’s license and passport for business travel.
11. Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
12. Willingness to travel and work with a team of professionals.
13. Thorough understanding of branding principles and tactics through multimedia.
14. Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
15. Excellent social media knowledge of platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter).
