Role: AVP Network Engineer (Operations and Security)
Location: New York, NY - 3 days onsite
Compensation: $125,000-185,000 base bonus
One of the world's largest investment management firms is currently on the hunt or an experienced Network Engineer with a background in security. This position will sit in the technology team at the core of each of the firm's businesses and new growth initiatives.
Role Overview: The Network Engineer plays a key role in the Cybersecurity & Enterprise Technology teams, focusing on the implementation, enhancement, and support of network security tools. This position requires expertise in network engineering and proficiency in optimizing network tools and infrastructure.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and implement vendor solutions, including Firewalls, Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), Secure Web Gateways (SWGs), Network Segmentation, and Cloud Network Security.
- Provide engineering and operational support for network security systems, including deployments, upgrades, migrations, and new feature implementations.
- Improve and standardize support processes, ensuring thorough documentation.
- Use infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform) to manage configurations and network infrastructure.
- Analyze and optimize network traffic using SIEM platforms like Splunk.
- Implement both traditional segmentation (firewalls/ACLs) and Zero Trust policies with micro-segmentation.
- Collaborate with network architecture teams to assess and implement new features.
- Enhance infrastructure management, patching, and lifecycle processes.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in Network Engineering or Network Security.
- Expertise with tools like Zscaler ZIA/ZPA and Palo Alto Firewalls.
- Familiarity with SD-WAN (Cloudgenix), WAF (Cloudflare), NAC (Forescout), and firewall orchestration (Tufin/Algosec) is preferred.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and infrastructure management.
- Proficient with automation (Python, Bash) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
- Strong understanding of network protocols, security best practices, and SIEM systems (Splunk).
- Experience with CI/CD systems (GitLab) and enterprise architecture.
