Senior Financial Analyst

Compensation: $75,000 to $135,000 Based on Experience and Qualifications

Occupational Summary:

This position is a senior level analyst that will provide professional accounting and financial-related advisory services to electric cooperatives and municipal utilities. Services include:

• Prepare pro forma income statements and determine revenue requirements for cost-of-service studies.
• Assist in preparation of financial planning and forecasting.
• Provide cost/benefit analyses
• Prepare technical financial and rate-related reports.
• Prepare and be able to give presentations on technical issues before the staff of Company’s clients.

This position reports to the Manager of Financial Services. This position may temporarily, or on an ongoing basis, direct the activities of others as determined appropriate by supervisory personnel.

Position requirements include:

• Must have a thorough working knowledge of utility rates, cost allocation methodologies and regulatory accounting procedures.
• Must be able to understand, develop, and provide comparisons of alternate rate design options.
• Must be able to develop and input data in worksheets, retrieve and manipulate data used for billing, load forecasting, financial planning, and engineering.
• Must understand the technological, market, and commercial trends driving the current utility industry transformation.
• Must build and maintain long-term project and business advisory relationships, including actively participating in industry groups.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5 years of rate and/or utility experience; electric utilities preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting; CPA or equivalent work experience in the electric utility industry.
• Must be proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Word.
