We are seeking for our client a self-starting, detail-oriented, and experienced Interior Designer to join their award-winning creative family-oriented team specializing in interior design, architecture, and branding. Be an integral part of the design team and design projects working alongside other talented team members to create exceptional interior design projects. You will collaborate with other interior designers, architects, graphic designers, enquiring minds, craftspeople, and artists dedicated to developing innovative solutions and distinctive designs in all projects. This position will be hybrid working in the Alexandria, VA area with the ability to visit the office when needed for team meetings, presentations, and more.

Key Responsibilities/duties

  • Participate in the development process of interior projects, with a focus on conceptual development and documentation
  • Prepare and modifies architectural documents, elevations, sections, general details, millwork details, finishes, specs, etc.
  • Prepare 2D and 3D presentation/design
  • Generate selections for furniture, art, and accessory packages, and coordinate material selections
  • Comfortably and clearly specify furniture, fabric, materials, lighting, etc.
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with the design team to delegate and deliver design excellence
  • Communicate directly with clients, product reps, and dealers to manage expectations, budgets, and schedules
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in interior design, architecture, or related field from an accredited school
  • 3-6 years of experience as a client-facing interior designer
  • Strong knowledge of the design process
  • Outstanding Project Management skills
  • Software abilities in Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • A strong work ethic, high integrity level, and a “can-do” attitude
  • Excellent communication with internal design team, coordinating A&D firms and clients
  • Motivated self-starter who can execute deliverables independently just as well as collaboratively
  • Flexibility and organizational skills to focus on multiple projects in various development stages
