EAP INTAKE CLERK (Seasonal)

POSITION SUMMARY:

ICAP is a private, 501(C) 3 agency mobilizing private and public sector resources to help low and moderate income people improve their living conditions.

The Energy Assistance Program Intake Clerk will process EAP applications for walk-in and mail-in clients. Necessary documentation will be gathered from clientele and entered on EAP software to complete an application for services. The position will assist clients with referral information on needed services for the household.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Education/experience with basic computer skills
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills
  • Math aptitude for determining eligibility
  • Must have the ability to interview and refer low-income clients for intake purposes
  • Prior social service experience is helpful
  • Must consent to a limited criminal history review

MAJOR DUTIES/FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interview and compile necessary documentation to complete EAP application for eligible households; interview clients in the office or at scheduled outreach sites
  • Verify all household income, utility account numbers and household composition information
  • Enter completed Energy Assistance Program application into a program specific web based application
  • Organize EAP client file
  • Attend all EAP training and program meetings
  • Conduct assessments to identify additional services needed by Energy Assistance Program applicants
  • Knowledge of area social service organizations for client referrals
  • Alternate as needed in receptionist role

POSITION CLASSIFICATION: Level VII Temporary Staff (Non-exempt)

SALARY: DOQ

SPECIAL CONDITIONS: Position is seasonal and as needed for the EAP heating season.

HOURS PER WEEK: 37.5

WEEKS PER YEAR: Varies-depends on funding

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
