Intermountain Health is Hiring an Inventory Coordinator Near Billings, MT

Job Description:This position is accountable for the acquisition of products, equipment, and services that require more functional knowledge of the clinical and/or technical aspects of requested items. The position handles specialized purchasing processes and is a subject matter expert. The incumbent works and communicates directly with all levels of Intermountain Healthcare Caregivers and suppliers.

Shift Details: Full-time – Mon-Fri 8:00AM to 5:00PM
  • One week out of 6 this position will be on call for the hours out side of our open business hours.
As a Procedures Inventory Coordinator, you need to know how to:
Support leadership in translating care site supply chain goals into actionable priorities and assure communication and measurement for achievement of same. This will include both supply and other non-labor expense initiatives.
Specifically accountable for all distribution receiving, logistics and inventory management and other duties as assigned. Assure smooth functioning of operations at all hours through appropriate delegation, development and adherence to strict standards of work.
Monitor, rotate, remove and document all outdated and overstocked supplies, checking for any damage to items.
Prepare computer generated purchase orders as required by specific job function.
Inform peers and departments of substitute products, back orders, delays in shipments and stock outs.
Process orders for supplies as needed through the MMIS system.
Ensures timely processing for delivery cut offs with a minimum of errors.
Verify inventory and control levels, maintain, review and correct item file counts in computer and/or supply chain cabinets.
Ensure data integrity by adhering to pre-defined standards.
Serve as a resource in investigating products, assisting in budgeting, suggesting changes in product utilization, and advising on proper inventory control techniques.
Physically stock, and help pick needed supplies for delivery to nursing and ancillary departments.
Resolve supply shortages of inventory items in a timely fashion.
Remove unneeded stock via MMIS process and notify leadership dollar amounts and source of disposition. Ensure supplies that can be donated are captured using the Lawson donation process for quarterly reporting to finance.
Run needed reports, such as open order report, stock status report, and slow item usage report to help maintain effective and adequate supply levels.
Maintain accurate supply and order information while achieving >90% cycle count accuracy (quarterly).
Review and update supply bin locations, verify units of measure, order points, catalog numbers, item numbers, and pricing as needed to maintain integrity of supply inventory and accuracy.
Utilize MMIS computer menus to identify supplies, locations, on hand quantities stocked and non-stocked supplies.
Demonstrate understanding, maintain proficiency and comply with hospital and supply chain management policies on regulated/ mandated competencies, quizzes and tests (e.g. Lawson).
Aid co-workers in heavy workload periods, complete typical days workload as assigned, maintain safe and clean work environment, suggest, assist, or use own initiative to do special projects.
Demonstrate ability to work within a cohesive team, in dealing with coworkers and all members of the care site organization to promote efficiency and provide quality patient care, responding in a courteous and professional manner.
Serve as gatekeeper for the Value Analysis process.
Attend team meetings as appropriate to discuss and implement new products, product introduction, and standardization efforts. Identify product issues as needed.
In cooperation with sourcing and category management provide ongoing investigation of new and replacement products.
Review utilization patterns and report unusual variances; report reduction opportunities. Proactively reduce inventory and achieve maximum turn and fill rates.
Serve as liaison between supply chain, staff and vendors to ensure accurate and timely product conversions.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associates Degree or a minimum of three (3) years of related work experience- Minimum of three (3) years of an inventory management related role, preferably in a supply chain healthcare environment- Knowledge of MMIS, preferably Lawson, Epic, Par Excellence or other related inventory system
Preferred:
  • Bachelors Degree in Business or related healthcare field- At least two (2) years of experience acting as a lead or in a supervisory type position
