Software Engineer
Location: North Beach, San Francisco, CA (100% in-office)
We're building the future of coding, starting with an AI-first code editor: Cursor. Our small team includes IMO gold medalists, former founders, researchers, and top OSS authors. Backed by OpenAI, we are growing fast and are based in North Beach, San Francisco.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain software components for Cursor's AI-first code editor.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of the system.
- Handle increasingly large data pipelines using Kubernetes, ECS, Terraform, and other scaling infrastructure tools.
- Implement and optimize algorithms to improve the efficiency and accuracy of our AI models.
- Participate in product design discussions to ensure a seamless user experience.
- Follow best engineering practices to maintain code quality and system reliability.
Requirements:
- Comfortable with the startup grind and willing to work 100% in-office in San Francisco.
- Proficiency in TypeScript, Rust, or C/C .
- Experience with infrastructure management, including Kubernetes, ECS, Terraform, and scaling out infrastructure.
- Strong engineering practices and attention to detail.
- Prior startup experience is a plus.
