We’re hiring a Kitchen Steward to Live. Work. Explore. this summer!

Job Summary:Ensure kitchen area is clean, well maintained and organized at all times.

The Details:Position Type: SeasonalSeason Dates: May through late-September 2024Pay: $15.85/hrSchedule: Typical schedule is 45-50 hours/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities

• Communicate closely with Chef on Duty.
• Ensure kitchen area is clean, well maintained and organized at all times.
• Ensure floors are dry and clean at all times.
• Oversee all equipment is clean and in good working order. 
• Ensure waste areas are clean and tidy.
• Supervise and train Kitchen Workers in the dish-pit area. 
• Oversee Xanterra and National Park Service standards are met throughout kitchen area.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to oversee the operation and maintaining the sanitation of the kitchen area.
• Must be familiar with proper use of chemicals, and draining and filling dish machines. 
• Must have experience as a supervisor or lead role in a Back of the House function.
• Ability to communicate clearly to create a Teamwork environment.
• Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced, high stress environment.

Physical Requirements include:

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time, approximately 8 hours.
• Must be able to walk for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Must be able to bend, stretch, and reach for extended periods of time. 
• Must be able to work with chemicals and cleaning solutions.
