Internal Medicine Associates is Hiring a Patient Service Representative Near Greenville, SC

Job Title: Patient Services Representative Location: Greenville, SC

Job Description: IMA Patient Services Representatives contribute to our vision statement by establishing and sustaining valuable working relationships with providers, staff, and management so that we can provide high-quality, patient-centered care. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, various activities related to patient intake and directing a call volume of >2500 per week to specific locations within the practice. Serving more than 30 providers within Internal Medicine, Patient Services Representatives need to have strong organizational skills along with the ability to think on their feet when faced with new situations that arise throughout each day within a professional medical environment. 

Clinic Description: Internal Medicine Associates of Greenville has been serving the Upstate for more than 50 years, growing from three physicians to more than thirty. IMA is a multispecialty practice focused on providing a continuum of high-quality, patient-centered care. Our skilled team of physicians specializes in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions ranging from common illnesses to chronic diseases.

Internal Medicine

Our internal medicine doctors focus on adult medicine and serve as your first point of contact in our medical practice. Our providers have great expertise in preventive care and are specially trained to manage complex problems.

Responsibilities

A Patient Services Representative has the following responsibilities and duties:

  • Answer, investigate and/or direct patient inquiries or complaints to the appropriate medical staff member.
  • Scheduling appointments correctly, based on a host of nuances.
  • Handling phone and online orders promptly and accurately along with taking messages when needed.
  • Monitor appointments and bookings, addressing any issues that arise.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of all services and treatments offered.
  • Keeping track of provider schedules and restrictions.
  • Ensuring the office environment remains clean and organized.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by promptly addressing client concerns and resolving complaints.
  • Facilitating effective communication among team members regarding various patient concerns.

Education/Skills

A Patient Services Representative should have the following skills, education and experience:

  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Multi-task efficiently and effectively as required.
  • Work under pressure and within certain time constraints.
  • Must be able to remain calm and effective in a busy, stressful circumstance.
  • Demonstrate excellent listening skills.
  • Proficient in computers and keyboarding.
  • Excellent phone etiquette.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Use of hands and fingers to touch, handle, and feel.
  • Talking.
  • Hearing.
  • Repetitive movements.
  • Light to moderate physical effort (up to 20 pounds weight lifted).

  • Protect privacy and confidentiality.
  • Assist patients and respective family members or caretakers.
  • Smile and greet everyone.

  • Offer support and demonstrate teamwork to co-workers.
  • Note problems and take responsibility to solve them.

Compliance

  • Demonstrates compliance with established system and departmental policies and procedures; including, but not limited to, dress code, attendance, safety (OSHA) and confidentiality (HIPAA).
  • Adheres to job requirements regarding PPD testing, licensure, certification, and assigned training.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

  • This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, or director.

Job Types: Full-Time

  • 32 hours weekly
  • Monday – Thursday; 8:30 a.m. – 4:45 p.m. and Friday; 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
