Job Description - Dispatcher Extraordinaire (AKA Master of Logistics and Communications)
Are you a master of coordination and communication? Do you love a challenge and thrive under pressure? Then we have the job for you! International Gourmet Foods, Inc. is seeking a Dispatcher Extraordinaire to join our team.
As the Deliveries team member responsible for managing communication between drivers, accounts receivable (AR) team members, and customer service and sales representatives, you'll be the glue that keeps our deliveries running smoothly. Plus, you'll have the coolest job title around - Master of Logistics and Communications.
Responsibilities:

• Dispatch drivers on time, because we don't want anyone to be fashionably late to the party
• Monitor deliveries via IGF’s dispatch operating system, Route 4 Me & Geotab, because we love technology almost as much as we love food
• Be the drivers' main point of contact and communicate any delivery issues with the appropriate parties. You'll be the hero that saves the day
• Verify and mitigate mis-picks, shorts, and other shipping issues with warehouse personnel. You'll be the Sherlock Holmes of inventory issues
• Coordinate second service deliveries, because sometimes one delivery just isn't enough
• Receive returns and put away returns from Southern Virginia routes. Returns happen, but you'll handle them like a boss
• Perform other duties as assigned, because we know you're a jack of all trades

Qualifications:

• A proactive, quick-thinking, problem-solving approach to work. You'll need to be faster than a speeding delivery truck
• Excellent organization and data-entry skills. You're the spreadsheet master we've been looking for
• Strong attention to detail and solid written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Your communication skills are smoother than butter on fresh-baked bread
• Bilingual communication skills (English and Spanish). Dos idiomas, por favor
• Ability to build and maintain relationships across teams, departments, customers, and vendors. You'll be the social butterfly of our company
• Ability to think analytically to decipher information; using logic to address work-related issues and problems. Sherlock Holmes, is that you again?
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Dynamics, Excel, and Word) and other tech skills, including use of email, multi-line phone system, and text. You'll be the tech guru that everyone comes to for help
• Must have a good driving record with the ability to obtain a DOT in case trucks need to be moved around. You're a driving machine, just like our delivery trucks

Physical Requirements (aka The Ultimate Fitness Test)We are looking for someone who can handle it all! As a Dispatcher at IGF, you'll need to have the endurance of an Olympic athlete and the flexibility of a gymnast. Here are the skills you'll need to master:

• Must be able to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods of time (without falling asleep)
• Must be able to bend, lift (at least 55 lb.), stretch, and climb (including ladders) (nope, we're not sending you to the circus, we promise)
• Must be able to sustain prolonged periods of standing and walking (a.k.a. the marathon walker)
• Must be able to work across temperature zones (dry/refrigerated/frozen) (you'll be our very own human thermometer)
• Requires bending, sitting, standing, walking, use of hands, arms, legs, eyes, and voice (basically,you'll be a one-person band)
