  • Agency Services: brand consulting, creative, content production, digital, experiential marketing, field marketing, hospitality, performance marketing, social media marketing, and sponsorship consulting
  • Properties – owned-and-operated live sports and lifestyle events and media assets airing on broadcast and digital networks

The Position

Intersport is seeking to add a smart and driven Director, Ticket Sales to its Strategic Partnerships team, in support of Intersport’s College Sports and Golf verticals. The Strategic Partnerships team leads revenue generation efforts through sponsorship, media, and ticket sales efforts.

The Director should be a driven and positive individual, committed to becoming a sports and entertainment sale leader. The primary focus of this position is selling all of Intersport’s ticket packages across the agency’s event portfolio. All sales relationships will be derived from making outbound calls and cultivating relationships in multiple markets and as such the Director will be responsible for driving individual, group, and VIP ticket sales for numerous live event sports properties throughout the calendar year. The right candidate will have experience and proven success in ticket sales, whether for a team or other sports or entertainment property and will possess a consultative approach and commitment to high-volume, high-energy sales outreach to achieve their goals. The Director will also oversee and provide direct management of at least two Account Executive, Ticket Sales team members.

Responsibilities

General

  • Embody and reflect Intersport’s performance-based culture and commit him/herself and team to the highest standards for all work
  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver executional excellence

Business Development

  • Provide expertise in assigned properties
  • Provide overall leadership for ticket sales across all Intersport properties
  • Oversee sales efforts involving ticket packages, travel packages and sponsorship and premium sales opportunities
  • Responsible for the recruiting, hiring and professional development of ticket sales staff
  • Provide ongoing training, coaching and mentoring for ticket sales staff
  • Lead regular staff meetings and facilitating discussion and sharing of ideas related to growing ticket sales revenue
  • Develop and maintain a personal client base of ticket sales prospects and customers
  • Prepare and manage an annual Ticket Sales business plan and budget in concert with appropriate staff and senior management that encompasses the sales and retention of all of our various ticket buying customers
  • Prepare timely and accurate sales reports that monitor the progress of the ticket sales team both individually and collectively and ensures that we maintain proper sales pacing to meet the goals set forth
  • Work with members of senior management team to manage relationships with outside vendors and corporate partners
  • Work closely with property marketing staff on ticket sales promotions as it relates to driving ticket sales revenue
  • Work closely with national Analytics team on CRM/database initiatives including data collection, analytics and marketing directly related to generating incremental ticket sales revenue
  • Provide excellent customer service to prospects and current clients over the phone and during games and events
  • Attend weekly meetings and actively participate in training sessions
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned

Team Management

  • Work collaboratively with all members of integrated team
  • Manage, train, and mentor junior-level (Account Executive) ticket sales team members

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in successful ticket sales for a sports team, sports or entertainment property or related organization
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in a ticket sales management role
  • Superior communication skills, collaborative with strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Results-oriented leader with proven ability to motivate people and maximize revenue production
  • Proven track record in ticket sales – in terms of both personal accomplishments and leading successful sales teams
  • Must be enthusiastic, creative and able to think both strategically and tactically
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, high paced environment
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
  • Highest level of personal and professional integrity and ethics
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Willingness and ability to work long hours, including holidays and weekends as required
  • Ability to travel for business on trips typically lasting between three (3) and four (4) days
