What are we looking for?

The Laboratory Technician will support the automotive performance business by performing testing as per standard methods or procedures, recording data, and performing routine calculations.

Equipment and test methods are specified, and routine procedures are followed. We're looking for someone with ability to read, interpret and understand standard test methods, Quality policy manuals, safety rules, and procedure manuals.

Shift / Schedule : This is a regular full time shift working 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday.

What you'll do :

• Prepare and set up test samples and test equipment.
• Operate equipment and perform testing in accordance with approved test plan.
• Obtain and record test data in accordance with standards.
• Perform calculation and analysis of test data.
• May draft test reports.
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment as needed.
• May make recommendations regarding the interpretation and applicability for specific test standards.
• May communicate with clients regarding general project inquiries, updates, etc.
• May assist with test plan creation and / or method development.
• May adapt procedures and equipment to meet department needs.
• May prepare project files for compliance with operating procedures.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications :

• High school diploma or GED
• 3 years of directly related experience
• Ability to utilize basic shop equipment and various hand tools
• Ability to review, understand, and convey technical information in an effective manner
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out test instructions
• Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
• Strong communication skills, in both verbal and written formats
• Must be quality driven and customer focused.
• Microsoft Office software proficiency, including Word, Excel and Outlook
