Flight Systems Engineering & Integration Lead - Lunar Data Network (LDN)

About The Position

As the Flight Systems Engineering & Integration Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the integration of our (Lunar Data Network) LDN with mission-critical systems, ensuring seamless operation and interoperability. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the development, testing, and deployment of the LDN, ensuring that it meets the highest standards of performance and reliability.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the systems engineering processes for the LDN, ensuring that all components, including Nova Control, global ground stations, base-band units, and lunar data relay satellites, are fully integrated and functional.
  • Manage the integration of the LDN with existing and future cislunar mission architectures, ensuring that all systems are interoperable and meet mission requirements.
  • Develop and implement mission assurance processes to guarantee the reliability and security of the LDN throughout all phases of operation.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the engineering team, driving innovation and ensuring that all engineering activities align with project goals and timelines.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including NASA and other commercial partners, to ensure that the LDN meets or exceeds all contractual and mission requirements.
  • Generate comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate analysis findings to stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in RF analysis and simulation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on space systems, telecommunications, or related fields.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience with the design, development, and integration of complex space systems, including ground stations, communication networks, and data relay satellites.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary engineering teams, with a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
