Invaleon Solar Technologies is Hiring a Solar Engineer - Level I Near Haverhill, MA

Invaleon Solar Technologies is seeking two entry level Solar Design Engineers to join our team. As a Solar Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing solar energy systems for commercial and utility-scale applications. You will use your technical knowledge and expertise to create detailed system level plans and specifications, perform energy analysis and cost assessments, interact with local planning boards and building departments, and ensure that all designs meet relevant codes and standards. You will collaborate with other team members, including sales and project management, to deliver high-quality solar energy solutions to our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop solar energy systems for commercial applications
  • Create detailed 2D plans and specifications using AutoCAD, PVsyst/Helioscope, and other software tools
  • Ensure that all designs comply with utility requirements, relevant codes and standards, such as NEC and IEEE
  • Collaborate with sales and project management teams to deliver high-quality solar energy solutions to clients in a timely manner
  • Engage public utilities during project application and address any design concerns and adjust system design accordingly
  • Conduct site visits and gather information necessary for accurate design and assessment
  • Occasional travel may be required for initial site review for system planning, field inspections during installation, and equipment testing as the installation progresses
  • Provide technical support and guidance to installation teams during project implementation
  • Work with other outside technical experts (civil/structural/environmental), equipment vendors and third party entities during system design, installation and testing
  • Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to stay current on best practices and new technologies in the solar renewable energy field

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in electrical, mechanical or renewable energy fields
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is a must, demonstrated history creating drawing sets and detail prints
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and pride in one’s work product required
  • Desire to take responsibility of your project from initial design to conclusion and final acceptance
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work with a diverse project staff (office professionals, field trades and laborers, local government entities, utilities, vendors and customers) in a professional manner
  • Experience with transformers and electrical system design a plus
  • Passion for renewable energy and a desire to make a positive impact on the environment

Compensation:

$70,000 - $80,000
