DescriptionProject Managers are responsible for managing customer requirements and expectations as it relates to quality, cost, and delivery. This individual will lead a project team consisting of project engineers, mechanical designers, and automation engineers to apply sound engineering practices to design industrial ergonomic tooling and automated systems. The individual must possess and apply working knowledge of solid modeling, layout drawings, functional specifications, and engineering standards.
ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage customer scope of work to ensure all contractual terms and conditions are met.
  • Establish/maintain all project timing, financial aspects, and key milestones within the ERP system.
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support customer expectations.
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver progress reports.
  • Monitor and manage customer requirements, quality, cost, and timing elements of assigned projects.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises and create contingency/recovery plans.
  • Coach, mentor, and motivate assigned team members and establish accountability for their assigned work.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in all activities and provide efficient service to internal and external customers.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers and customers both orally and written.
  • Must be able to travel within the continental US.
Other Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Projects, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business technical procedures. Ability to write reports, effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and customers (internal/external).
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to solve problems and manage a variety of diverse manufacturing challenges.
  • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and improve existing processes.
  • Basic understanding of machining tools and common machining practices.
  • Basic understanding of fastening systems including torque control processes.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Proven organizational; time management; multi-tasking skills.
  • Computer Literacy (Microsoft Office Programs).
  • Strong presentation skills; executive presence.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to remain flexible to changing schedules and demands.
EDUCATIONPrefer a minimum of Associates degree from an accredited institution in the field of engineering (Mechanical or Electrical), manufacturing technologies or a related field is preferred. At least two years related experience in project management, planning, and financial tracking. Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of one year of experience in a leadership role.
Additional preference given to candidates with experience or education in the use of native solid modeling software such as NX, Solidworks, Catia, Creo and ACAD. This requires the ability to maneuver within the described modeling software to acquire dimensions, validate accuracy, appearance and recover screen representations of tools to be used for documentation purposes. Experience leading projects involving fully automated/robotic systems highly preferred.
