Job Description
PigFish is looking for a talented and experienced line cook to join our team at our new restaurant, PigFish, by two time James Beard nominated Chef Steve Phelps. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and a commitment to using fresh, sustainable ingredients. You will be responsible for preparing all aspects of food production, from prepping ingredients to cooking and plating dishes. The chef will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Responsibilities
- Prepare all aspects of food production, from ordering and receiving ingredients to cooking and plating dishes
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
- Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures
- Assist with inventory management
- Other duties as assigned
- Five day work week, closed Sunday and Monday
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience as a line chef in a restaurant setting
- Strong culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques
- Experience with seafood and gourmet sandwiches and appetizers is a plus
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Food service certification
