POSITION TITLE: Network Specialist (Mid-Level)

DEPARTMENT: Technology/Operations
POSITION OVERVIEW: The Network Specialist – Operations is a mandatory on-site mid-level IT resource providing IT support maintaining and monitoring our client’s network landscape. You will be called upon to help address issues, recommend improvements, implement solutions, and contribute to the overall network landscape.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide comprehensive operational support for all aspects of the network as well as related functions.
• Monitor and maintain all network infrastructure.
• Upgrade, harden, and configure all network infrastructure nodes/systems.
• Prepare and maintain documentation for all aspects within scope.
• Contribute to design and planning efforts for new sites as well as upgrades/expansions for existing sites.

LOCATION AND TRAVEL:
The position is in Long Island, NY (Commack / Long Beach) with potential to travel to other offices.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND CAPABILITIES

• Experience with Cisco Meraki (MX, MS, and MR)/(Wired/Wireless).
• Experience with Cisco Embedded Wireless Controller.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure (AAD, Universal Print, etc.).
• Experience with Microsoft Teams (including voice and video conferencing).
• Experience with Zscaler (ZIA and ZPA).
• Experience with Avaya PBX management.
• Experience with PFSense firewall configuration and management.
• Experience with zero-trust environments.
• Experience with video conferencing deployments.
• Experience with site-to-site VPN.
• Experience with Palo Alto.
• CCNP R&S certification or equivalent experience.
• Experience in working with external parties to remotely configure and troubleshoot external network connectivity.
• Thorough understanding of ITIL Service Management Concepts.
• Ability to analyze data and develop logical solutions to complext issues.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply complext technical publications, manuals, and other documentation.

Time Management – Ability to work within a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment with minimal supervision. Must be well organized with a high attention to detail and accuracy.

Reasoning/Analytical Ability – Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to make timely recommendations to effectively solve problems, using independent judgment consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations, and/or law.

Communication – Must be able to communicate well in writing, verbally, and through presentations to deliver audience-appropriate messages consistent with organizational messaging. Requires the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner. Must be able to collaborate and respectfully debate; transparency and grace in providing and receiving feedback required. Knowing the appropriate method of communication for a given topic (e.g., Teams, email, video conference, etc.) is necessary for success, as is the ability to teach others.

• Ability to sit for extended periods of time while working on a personal computer and to move intermittently throughout the workday.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $55.00 - $70.00 per hour

• 8 hour shift

• Network administration: 5 years (Preferred)
