REPORTS TO: Principal(s) of assigned school(s) and Director of Instruction SUPERVISES: Para Educator (if applicable) Job GoalsThe ELP teacher will follow Iowa Code and ICCSD guidelines to enhance student learning, promote the overall efficiency of the school system, and maximize the educational opportunities available to each child. Performance Responsibilities
Conduct student assessment and identification under the direction of the ELP Coordinator.
Design Differentiated Learning Plans for students.
Deliver the curriculum of the Extended Learning Program.
Facilitate independent study projects with students.
Monitor general record keeping.
Provide in-service to teachers, administrators, and parents.
Maintain communication with building staff, parents, and administrators.
Remain current in research regarding education for gifted students through reading and professional development.
Represent the Extended Learning Program at meetings as requested by the ELP Coordinator.
Participate in the curriculum development process as requested by the ELP Coordinator.
Other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: One hundred eighty four days (184) (one hundred eighty six days (186) for new teacher to our district). Salary and calendar year to be established by the Board of Education. EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the District’s policy on Evaluation, State Statute, and any applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
