REPORTS TO: Building Principal SUPERVISES: N/A Job Goals
To improve the skills of students so that they will be able to function satisfactorily in the classroom.
To provide individualized or small group instruction for students utilizing a variety of research-based methods and materials appropriate to each student's level.
To work cooperatively with the administrators, classroom teachers, coordinators, and specialists in providing instruction that will effectively meet the needs of students.
To provide effective communication between teacher and parent with emphasis on providing support to meet student needs.
To work with students in helping them to become lifelong learners.
Performance Responsibilities
Collect, analyze, and determine selection of students in collaboration with classroom teachers and building coaches based on assessments.
Assess specific academic needs and work with instructional coach to design individualized instruction
Provide individual and/or small group instruction to identified students
Monitor student progress and adjust the interventions accordingly
Participate in PLC team meetings when needed
Update and keep current all student rosters, records, and interventions received
Attend district and building professional development as scheduled, and Title 1 professional development and business meetings as scheduled
Collaborate with classroom teachers, instructional coaches, parents, AEA staff, administrator
Provide ongoing parent education and communication
Prepare and plan for parent-teacher conferences and end-of-year reports. Complete a “Progress Report” for each student or collaborate with classroom teacher.
Prepare and distribute summer information, such as leveled reading lists, summer library information
Distribute parent surveys to students who have received Title 1 services in Reading or Math. Collect and file.
