Job Description
Iowa State University is seeking a Motor Vehicle Operator II to work as a delivery driver within the Central Receiving operation.
Iowa State University Central Receiving provides a single-point delivery network for the ISU campus. Central Receiving will receive, track, and redistribute university funded materials to ISU departments.
This position is responsible for daily delivery of packages and palletized goods and equipment to the Iowa State University community.
This is a physical position that involves climbing stairs along with lifting and carrying packages daily. The successful individual will have the ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
This person will need to make sound judgements, have a sense of urgency, and provide high-level customer service. They will perform as a laborer when not driving in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
The successful candidate will possess the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; knowledge of hazards and safety precautions related to warehousing and delivery work;
the ability to perform heavy manual labor; and the ability to work in a varying weather conditions.
Hours : Monday - Friday, 7 : 30 am - 4 : 00 pm
Under general supervision operates motor vehicle to transport personnel or materials. Uses judgment in the proper handling of cargo and determining priorities of assignments.
