Ipswich Public Schools is Hiring a Special Education Elementary Program Manager Near Ipswich, MA

Seeking a child-centered professional with strong knowledge of special education and an understanding of student needs to fill our Paul F. Doyon Memorial School Elementary Program Manager (team chair) position. The candidate must be collaborative and supportive of all colleagues in our school community. The Program Manager leads the building special education team in managing a high quality system of student identification and service delivery, and coordinates at the District level with the Director of Pupil Personnel Services.
Duties Include: Chairing team meetings, ensuring compliance with special education regulations, fostering communication and trust with parents and building educators, overseeing the creation and timely dissemination of Individual Educational Programs (IEPs, and coordinating the preschool program in two elementary schools. Job Responsibilities: The Program Manager serves as the special education chairperson in each school building. Broad duties include team leadership in the special education process, oversight of the building special education delivery, building of positive relationships with families, and management of resources and records.Special Education Process- Eligibility and Services: Exhibit familiarity with MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) special education regulationsOrganize and participate in high quality special education meetings with families that focus on eligibility determination, annual review, and re-evaluation of student needs and provision of services in the least restrictive settingProvide oversight, mentoring, and continuing development of special education teachers and related service providersBuild relationships with staff members of various disciplines that will promote their working collaboratively with one another as a high performing Work in conjunction with the building principal and the Director of Pupil Personnel Services to develop and implement individualized services for students that are efficiently delivered, reflective of best professional practice, and fiscally responsibleThe Doyon Program Manager coordinates with the preschool special education team, the elementary building administrators in creating group and individual services for special education preschool students Building Special Education Oversight and Assistance: It is strongly preferred that the Program Manager hold a DESE Special Education Administrator licenseThe Program Manager coaches and works with special educators in creating well-written Individualized Educational Programs (IEPs) and delivery servicesProgram Managers contribute data and observations to administrators regarding the performance of special education teachers, RBTs, and paraeducators as part of the educator evaluation processProgram Managers make recommendations regarding needs for new programming or services, and do so within a data-driven, evidence based mindset.The Program Manager works collaboratively with school and District administrators to ensure appropriate staffing levels, while at the same time acknowledging fiscal constraints and searching for economies of scaleProgram Managers support continued collaboration among Team members so that recommendations made for service delivery are sustainable, address student need, and make efficient use of finite school resourcesA Masters level degree in special education or related field and relevant school experience are required.
