Our client in the transportation industry is in need of an assitant controller in Anchorage, Alaska. This position will manage a small team of accountants, and report directly to the CFO.

Responsibilities

• Maintain/update financial records, assist in month-end closing, reconcile accounts, and support financial statement preparation.
• Maintain/update payroll records, Reconciling balance sheet accounts.
• Develop and monitor budgets, and contribute to financial forecasting and variance analysis.
• Generate/analyze financial reports, support decision-making, and identify financial trends.
• Prepare audit schedules, ensure compliance, recommend improvements, and collaborate with teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or relevant field
• 3 - 5 years experience in management
• 8 years of experience in accounting
• Strong technical, analytical, communication and presentation skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
