INSTRUCTIONAL FACILITATOR
General Statement of Job:
Primary responsibility is as trainer, coach, and support for teachers and PLCs. Works under general supervision. Reports to the school principal and is supported by the Director of Curriculum Support for Elementary. Since Coddle Creek is an IB school this job includes the role of IB coordinator.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree required and advanced degree preferred
Five years successful experience in the classroom setting and experience in teacher development, coaching, working as a member of a team, and curriculum and instruction
Knowledge of NC Standard Course of Study, NC Professional Teaching Standards,
MTSS model, assessment processes and timelines, and research-based strategies
Experience coaching in culturally diverse schools.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
LETRS Implementation within classroom that aligns to the Science of Reading
LETRS Facilitation-district-wde
Facilitating PLC’s: unpacking standards, data analysis, planning
Modeling and coaching instruction in the classrooms
Assisting with fidelity of implementation with Bridges, Magnetic Reading, Letterland & Heggerty
CEU maintenance
Work with teachers to ensure alignment of instructional strategies & assessments to the North Carolina Essential Standards
Provide coaching and support to empower teachers as leaders
Co-teach and model lessons in classrooms
Provide and model differentiation strategies
Assist with data analysis to drive instructional planning
Facilitate MTSS processes at their school in collaboration with other school-based personnel
Work with individual/small groups of students to close gaps
Support Beginning Teachers and their Mentors through monthly professional development and ongoing coaching and classroom support
Continually research and share effective instructional strategies according to teacher and student needs
Coach and support the work of SIT and goal teams
Coach and support teachers as they help students to take ownership of their own learning
Continuously learn as a part of the district Instructional Facilitator PLC
