Position: Pediatric Dental Assistant

Wage Range: $19.00 to $22.00 (depending upon experience and training)

About Iris Pediatric Dentistry: We are a practice focused on enthusiastically cheerful care, teamwork and creating a supportive working environment. We see patients in the clinic Monday-Friday, except 1-2 days a month when the clinic is closed and we are completing General Anesthesia dental cases at Children's Hospital Colorado. Team members interested in working 3-4 days each week are welcomed to apply. Scheduling can be flexible between staff, but working some Mondays and Fridays is a must.

Pediatric dentistry can be challenging, and creating a cheerful, supportive environment is key to making small ones feel comfortable and have successful visits. Iris Pediatric Dentistry is looking for individuals driven to be positive, productive, supportive and efficient.

Some of our best team members did not have experience in pediatric dentistry before joining us. Other work experience working with children, teaching, hospitality or customer service jobs build skills that could make you a great dental assistant! Dr. Leslie is happy to teach you what you need to know, but a love of working with children, creating a fun and cheerful atmosphere during the visit and learning are a must.

Essential Functions and Duties:

Duties to include chairside assisting, oral hygiene instruction, taking dental radiographs, setting up and cleaning dental operatories, entering clinical findings and recommendations into electronic chart (CareStack) as directed by dentist, sterilization, as well as regular office cleaning and dental equipment maintenance.

Cross-training duties for front desk to include scheduling, check-out, payment collection and insurance verification as needed.

Option to assist in operating room for general anesthesia dental cases at Children’s Hospital with Dr. Murray to be determined depending on training and experience. General anesthesia cases occur 1-2 days per month.

Qualifications:

Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) with pediatric dental assisting experience helpful, but CDA is not required. Love of working with children, ready to learn about dentistry and enjoy teaching parents and children is a must.

Minimum education requirement: High School Diploma or GED.

CPR/BLS certification required prior to beginning employment.

Proof of healthcare related vaccines required prior to beginning work: Hepatitis B, Annual Flu vaccine, MMR, Varicella or history of chicken pox, Tdap, COVID-19.
