About the Company: our client is a leading homebuilding company in the Orlando area. They specialize in acquiring land, securing entitlements, and developing residential communities.
Position Summary: The Land Development Project Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of residential land development projects from initial due diligence through to final platting and project closeout. This is a hands-on role overseeing consultants, contractors, and municipal processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the due diligence process including environmental, surveying, engineering, and other third-party reports for potential land acquisitions
- Coordinate the entitlement process with municipalities including zoning, platting, permitting, etc.
- Oversee and manage third-party consultants such as civil engineers, surveyors, environmental consultants, etc.
- Develop scope, budgets, and schedules for land development projects
- Ensure projects adhere to quality, safety, timeline, and budget requirements
- Collaborate with internal construction teams to facilitate transition to homebuilding
- Proactively identify and mitigate issues and risks on projects
- Manage relationships with municipalities, agencies, and other stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in residential land development and/or construction
- Understanding of land development processes including entitlements, engineering, permitting, etc.
- Strong project management, organizational, and multi-tasking abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, engineering reports, surveys, etc.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Central Florida municipalities
- Knowledge of residential land development codes, regulations, and best practices
- Familiarity with scheduling and project management software
