Outpatient Dialysis Patient Care Technician - Paid Training!

Downtown Spokane & occasionally other Spokane clinics.

This need is for MOSTLY opening shift, with closing on occasion.

Schedule is made 60-90 days in advance

Schedule : Shifts can begin as early as 4 : 15am and closing shifts can end as late as 10 : 30pm. Shifts are scheduled well in advance and are 8-12 hours in length.

Our teammates work 3-4 days per week and are expected to work rotated Saturdays. We are closed on Sundays! An overview of the schedule will be shared during the interview process.

Example POST-TRAINING Schedule outlined :

  • Monday 4 : 45am 5 : 15pm
  • Tuesday 4 : 30am 2 : 30pm
  • Wednesday 4 : 45am 5 : 15pm
  • OFF Thu / Fri / Sat / Sun
  • Monday 4 : 15am-12pm
  • OFF Tue / Wed
  • Thursday 4 : 30am-2 : 30pm
  • Friday 4 : 45am-5 : 15pm
  • Saturday 4 : 30am-2 : 30pm

What you can expect :

Direct Patient Care. Spend the majority of your day in direct one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable and hygienic dialysis treatment.

Our PCTs care for up to 4 patients at a time.

  • Technician Duties . To monitor patients before, during and after dialysis treatment including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup.
  • Building long-term relationships with your patients who are suffering from end stage renal disease and are receiving treatment on average 3 times / week.

You will also be responsible for educating patients on Kidney Dialysis related topics.

Team. Cross functional team of clinicians including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers and leadership. PCTs work under the supervision of a RN.

Some details about this position :

  • Training may take place in a nearby clinic with teammates other than your assigned home clinic.
  • Hours of work may vary during the training period; however, you will typically be working between 32-40 hours per week.
  • There is potential to float to other nearby clinics during and after your training
  • You must have a flexible schedule and be able to work opening shifts, closing shifts, rotated Saturdays, and holidays.

The schedule is made at least 1 month in advance.

Requirements :

  • True desire to enter the health care field & care for other people in need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be comfortable handling blood and needles
  • Must be comfortable mixing acid or bicarb
  • Flexibility and availability to work mornings, evenings, rotated Saturdays and some holidays.
  • Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 12 hours) on your feet.
  • Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.
  • Health care experience is DESIRED not required : Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.

Salary / Wage Range

$17.50 - $27.00 / hour
