Senior Finance Analyst - Aviation US Job location: Plantation, Florida Important: This role is based locally in Plantation, FL. It is not remote, however, we offer hybrid office-based and work-from-home opportunity. Job Purpose This role's main responsibilities are Controlling and Reporting for Aviation US. The role holder is a strong support to the Senior Finance Manager in various areas of Aviation US Finance and will be working closely to the shared service center and other team members. Areas of focus, but not limited to, are the monthly closing activities and cost-controlling of operating expenses (e.g. ACS / ACMI and DOC). The broad portfolio of tasks and high complexity requires a pragmatic workstyle with the ability to think analytically and creatively while maintaining attention to detail. Job Tasks Perform monthly closing activities incl. calculation of accruals, data upload into corporate reporting system and monitoring of overall closing status Analyze and summarize Aviation US financial data in order to offer insight to upper-level management Involved in invoice verification process (e.g. DOCs, ACMI and ACS) Support preparation of monthly flash results, forecasts and budgets Ensuring accurate and on-time monthly CREST closing Support accounting governance to keep balance sheet accounts, subledger accounts and interface reconciliations up to date and in line with accounting principles Perform quarterly tasks related to external audits Streamline and improve efficient process in own area Participate in projects related to financial system development (e.g. Facilitate testing / validation of changes, recommend improvements, resolve questions / problems) Manage and support adhoc requests relating to Actual Reporting topics Prepare monthly high-quality reports for Business Performance Meetings Build and sustain strong working relationships with key stakeholders (region, global and SSCs) to ensure adherence to and understanding of Express Controlling policies and processes Provides functional advice or training to less experienced colleagues or temp staff Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities Skills and Qualifications University degree in Finance or Business administration or comparable qualification/background. Accountancy Qualification a Bonus Ideally 5-7 years' experience in Finance - Accounting or Controlling Knowledge of the reporting systems of DPDHL (CREST; Express TM1; SAP; Cognos etc) desirable but not necessary Knowledge of IFRS and DHL Accounting principles Good financial acumen and very strong analytical skills Subject matter expert in Controlling topics, Reporting Tools Ability to work under time pressure, short deadlines, high quality standards and various tasks at the same time Proficiency in Excel (incl. complex formulas and Visual Basic). A track record of using critical thinking to support business goals Persistent and pragmatic style of working Good social skills, work in an international environment Positive can-do mentality, always looking for improvements Good presentation skills, good negotiating and influencing skills Multicultural mind with excellent communication skills Ability to work independently but still form part of the team and support colleagues PC-Skills: Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office; Advanced Expert in Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
