About the role

We are looking for qualified auditors interested in relocating to Bermuda. We have a number of exciting roles available starting between September 2024 - January 2025.

You will work on a number of audit engagements in the financial services industry such as (re)insurance, asset management (funds), banking, and be in-charge of the audit file from planning through to completion, including a first review of the financial statements prior to the manager’s review. Reporting to the firm’s managers, directors and partners, you will get hands on experience learning from seasoned professionals in the asset management and insurance sectors.

Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• In-charge of/completing the audit file from planning through to completion.
• Preparing detailed audit work of various investment structures and related vehicles; or insurance entities.
• Performing a first review of the financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS.
• In-charging multiple audit engagements.
• Researching accounting and regulatory issues
• Corresponding professionally with clients and service providers.
• Ensuring engagements are delivered on time and within budget.

Please note that the job location is Bermuda and would be an on-site role on a 1.5-2 year minimum contract (promotions and pay rises can occur during the contract). A relocation and work permit package would be provided.

The requirements

• A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CA, CPA, CA(SA), CRC etc)*.
• Have at least 3 years’ recent external audit experience in the UK or Ireland (ideally within a Top 10 or Big 4 environment) by the time of starting.
• Financial services (asset management or insurance) experience is desired, but not essential as training will be provided.
• Prior US GAAP experience is not required.

*Must be exam and experienced qualified by the start dates in September 2024 - January 2025. If you are still to sit your final exams in the summer, you should apply as you can obtain a conditional offer in advance of taking your exams / receiving your results.

Compensation and benefits

A competitive remuneration package that is commensurate with qualifications and experience of approximately US$85,000 (very low tax), relocation package, amongst other benefits.

• Income Tax Free - There is no income tax in Bermuda, so you will receive your salary and bonus income tax-free (only a small payroll tax applies).

• Community - There is a large Expat community in Bermuda, particularly in the financial services industry. BBQs on the beach, boat trips/parties, sporting events such as beach volleyball are a normal part of everyday life in Bermuda.
