We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with a background in correctional healthcare to join our team in Westover, MD. As an RN in our correctional facility, you will provide comprehensive healthcare services to incarcerated individuals while maintaining a safe and secure environment.Note from the client- Must have corrections experience, experience working in substance abuse preferred. Position is for the Opioid treatment programResponsibilities:

• Assess the health status of inmates upon intake and throughout their incarceration.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessments and healthcare needs.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
• Monitor and manage chronic illnesses and acute conditions within the facility.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care as needed.
• Collaborate with correctional staff and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Educate inmates on health-related issues, medications, and self-care techniques.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with facility policies and regulations.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure a safe healthcare environment for staff and inmates.

Qualifications:

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Maryland.
• Experience working in a correctional facility or similar setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of correctional healthcare practices, protocols, and regulations.
• Ability to work independently and make clinical judgments in a secure and structured environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $48.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 32 per week
