Key Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Interaction:

    • Greet and check-in patients, providing a welcoming and comforting atmosphere.
    • Assist with patient registration and appointment scheduling.
    • Measure and record vital signs accurately.
  2. Clinical Assistance:

    • Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean and well-stocked.
    • Assist healthcare providers during examinations and minor procedures.
    • Collect and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
    • Administer medications and vaccines as directed by healthcare professionals.
  3. Documentation:

    • Maintain patient records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
    • Update electronic health records (EHR) with patient information and visit details.
    • Complete insurance and billing forms as necessary.
  4. Administrative Support:

    • Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage the appointment calendar.
    • Handle patient inquiries and provide information regarding procedures and treatments.
    • Maintain medical supplies inventory and reorder when necessary.
    • Assist with other administrative tasks as required.
  5. Infection Control:

    • Adhere to strict infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment.
    • Dispose of biohazard materials in accordance with established procedures.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assistant training program preferred.
  • Certified or registered as a Medical Assistant is a plus.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification may be required.
