In this role you will be a pivotal contributor to our mission of empowering investors and shaping the future of corporate governance in the Asia markets, excluding Japan. Apply now to be part of a dynamic global team dedicated to delivering excellence in governance research and thought leadership.
Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage, and develop high-performing governance research teams with specialized local market expertise.
  • Oversee ISS’ benchmark governance research on public companies and shareholder meetings in the Asia excluding the Japanese markets, delivering independent, insightful, and contextual research reports and voting recommendations within required deadlines.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with institutional investor clients, regulators, and other key stakeholders in the region.
  • Stay abreast of corporate governance, ESG, and other voting-related topics, policies, regulations, research, and best practices at both regional and global levels.
  • Identify and address issues with business-critical impact on operations and business reputation.
  • Respond to internal and external queries on research reports from key stakeholder groups, including ISS' international client base of institutional investors.
  • Participate in ISS' global policy development processes and contribute to the debate on corporate governance, ESG, and all voting policy-related matters.
  • Represent ISS at events, conferences, speaking engagements, and industry associations.
Qualifications
  • 10 years of leadership experience with management responsibility in a related or adjacent industry, demonstrating deep expertise in corporate governance and investor stewardship.
  • Understanding of the proxy advisory industry and its significance for institutional investors.
  • Strong familiarity with financial markets and the roles of asset owners, asset managers, regulators, policy makers, and other stakeholders within the investment stewardship ecosystem.
  • Extensive experience collaborating cross-functionally to manage stakeholders at all levels of seniority, with a background of working with diverse teams across global locations, including the Americas and Europe.
  • Highly analytical with the ability to distill and assimilate large quantities of information.
  • Excellent organizational and management skills, capable of both team and process management.
  • Organized and structured mind, with excellent time management skills: capable of handling multiple priorities and working under tight deadlines.
  • An advanced degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Law, Economics, Political Science, or a relevant field is desirable, though not essential if relevant professional experience is strong.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
