It Works! Technical Project Manager

This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days in the Palmetto, Florida office/2-days remote. Candidates must be local or relocate to be considered for this role.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a Technical Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful launch of technical projects supporting key business initiatives. The ideal candidate will excel in managing both agile and waterfall technical projects, possess exceptional communication skills, and be adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution. This role requires a strong background in gathering requirements, writing user stories, aligning on execution strategies with Product Managers, managing project ceremonies, and providing detailed and accurate status reports.

In this role, you will also leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and methodologies to optimize project management processes, enhance decision-making, and drive data-driven insights for technical product development and launches.

This role will report to the Director of the Project Management Office (PMO).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Planning and Execution:

  • Manage technical projects using both agile and waterfall methodologies, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and resource allocations.
  • Write clear and concise user stories, acceptance criteria, and other project documentation.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or obstacles, and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
  • Facilitate project ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospective for their respective Product Technical Team.
  • Leverage AI and machine learning models to forecast project timelines and outcomes, improving the accuracy of planning and enhancing risk mitigation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with Product Managers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to gather and refine project requirements.
  • Coordinate launch plans with various leads and stakeholders to ensure seamless launches to our customers.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Communicate project status updates, key milestones, and potential issues to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Monitor and address risks that can impact projects, working with appropriate stakeholders to remove roadblocks and keep projects on track.

AI Integration and Management:

  • Identify opportunities to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies across project management processes to enhance efficiency and decision-making.
  • Evaluate and recommend AI tools and platforms suitable for project management tasks, data analysis, and automation.
  • Stay updated on AI trends, best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to project management.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, optimize resources, and enhance efficiency in product development, project management, and launch activities.
  • Implement best practices and lessons learned from previous projects to drive continuous improvement in project management methodologies.
  • Monitor and manage AI-driven processes, analyzing performance metrics and making adjustments as needed to improve outcomes.

  • Project Management: Strong project management skills with experience managing technical projects from initiation to completion.
  • Understanding of Methodologies: Proficiency in agile methodologies such as Scrum/Kanban, as well as familiarity with waterfall methodologies.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and quality assurance to ensure accuracy and completeness in project deliverables.
  • Adaptability: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects concurrently, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • AI Literacy: Proficiency in understanding and leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to enhance decision-making, optimize processes, and drive data-driven insights in project management.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams, drive results, and inspire excellence.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience in technical project management roles, preferably in software development or IT environments.
  • Demonstrated success in managing projects using agile methodologies and tools.
  • Experience gathering requirements, writing user stories, and creating project documentation.
  • Strong understanding of project management frameworks, processes, and best practices.
  • Experience with project management tools such as Wrike, Azure DevOps, Trello, or Microsoft Project.
  • Experience working collaboratively with Product Managers, developers, QA teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Relevant certifications such as PMP, ScrumMaster, or Agile Practitioner are a plus.
