Description

As a Takeout Cashier, you will ensure smooth and efficient operations in a fast-paced food establishment. You will be responsible for taking orders, handling cash transactions, and providing excellent customer service. Your ability to multitask, work under pressure, and deliver exceptional service will contribute to our restaurant's overall success and customer satisfaction. 

1. Greet customers with a friendly and welcoming demeanor, providing a positive first impression.
2. Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, utilizing the point-of-sale (POS) system.
3. Process cash, credit card, and mobile payment transactions accurately, ensuring proper change is given.
4. Maintain a clean and organized cash register area, including the countertop, cash drawer, and surrounding area.
5. Answer customer inquiries regarding the menu, special promotions, and allergen information.
6. Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate preparation of food orders.
7. Maintain knowledge of current menu items, ingredients, and pricing to provide accurate information to customers.
8. Upsell and suggest additional menu items or special offers to increase sales and enhance the customer experience.
9. Resolve customer complaints or issues in a polite and efficient manner, seeking assistance from a manager when necessary.
10. Follow all health and safety guidelines, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
11. Perform opening and closing duties, including cash reconciliation, restocking supplies, and cleaning assigned areas.
12. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service.
13. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule varies with appx 25-30 hours per week

Requirements

• 1 years cash handling/cashiering experience - preferred
• Proficiency in written and spoken English - required
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to provide a friendly and welcoming experience to all customers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
• Basic math skills for processing cash transactions and providing accurate change.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and multitasking efficiently.
• Strong problem-solving skills to address customer concerns and resolve issues promptly.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while being self-motivated and independent.
• Basic computer literacy and familiarity with point-of-sale systems or electronic order-taking devices.
• Flexibility and willingness to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift to 25 pounds.
