About the Role: We are currently seeking a dynamic and skilled Cloud Data Platform Administrator to join our small yet agile team. This role is ideal for a self-starter who can effectively communicate and collaborate with application developers to identify needs and set up appropriate data pipelines. The successful candidate will also assist data engineers in creating functions and automation for development, analysis, performance tuning, and data modeling. Once hired full-time, there will be an on-call requirement, shared on a rotation every three weeks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deploy services and infrastructure in the Azure public cloud using Terraform.
• Collaborate with application developers to identify needs and set up data pipelines.
• Assist data engineers in creating automation scripts and functions for data management.
• Perform database backup and recovery.
• Configure Azure Monitoring and set up Azure DevOps Build Release Pipelines using YAML.
• Work with databases, both relational and No-SQL, and manage data platforms effectively.
• Provision infrastructure using Terraform and manage configuration with Ansible.
• Participate in on-call rotation, providing support outside of normal business hours.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or related field, OR 3 years of IS&T-related experience.
• 5 years of hands-on experience with DevOps practices.
• 5 years of experience deploying services and infrastructure in Azure.
• 5 years of experience provisioning infrastructure using Terraform.
• 5 years of experience with Ansible.
• Strong knowledge of data platforms.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience with database backup and recovery.
• Proficiency with Microsoft tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
• Self-learner with a strong desire to solve complex problems.
• Availability to work outside normal business hours, including weekends, and be on-call (24/7).

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

• Experience with relational and No-SQL databases.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks and Synapse.
• Experience with Liquibase and Azure CLI.
• Experience configuring Azure Monitoring.
• Familiarity with agile/scrum team environments.
• Administration of Oracle or Microsoft SQL Databases.
• Azure cloud certifications.
• Experience provisioning a HIPAA-compliant cloud service.
• Experience with Azure DevOps Build Release Pipelines in YAML.
• Experience with Bicep.
• Hands-on experience with Atlas MongoDB Cloud and Redis.
• Experience with OpenShift deployments using helm charts.
