Itron is the world's leading provider of solid-state meters -electricity, water, gas and heat-and data collection/communication systems, including automated meter reading (AMR) and advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) technology. We offer enterprise-wide software platforms, project management, installation and consulting services. Itron's Raleigh, NC office is looking for an Embedded Firmware Engineer. This person will be responsible for assisting architect, design and review firmware development.
Duties & Responsibilities:
•Assist in design, develop and debug application firmware using C/C
•Assist design, develop and execute comprehensive test plan
•Assist perform thorough test case execution and analysis report
•Assist analyze test results to assure quality of existing and new functionalities
•Assist analyze technical requirements documents and propose implementation solutions
•Assist implement code to meet the requirements of industry standards and specifications
•Assist troubleshoot and resolve firmware defects in new and existing code
•Assist document design and implementation of new features
•Assist present and participate in peer reviews of design documents and new code development
•Assist present innovative ideas for product and process improvement
Experience :
•Embedded Firmware development practices
•Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills
•Embedded Linux (server level, kernel or driver level)
•Strong C, C coding skills
•Experience with embedded systems
•Experience of RTOS
•Test tools - Oscilloscope and JTAG
Education : Bachelor's degree in related field (computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, etc.). Master's Degree in related field is highly preferred.
Travel : 1 - 10%
