What we are looking for
This position is for the Regional Director of our after-school program at the Maumee Valley Country Day School. The Regional Director will be required to be on-site for about 3.0 hours each day during weekdays and manage the staff and program logistics. The director will also be the point of contact for parents.
We are looking for someone who can confidently lead our team of instructors to build a positive learning environment for students ages 5-12. You will oversee the coordination of education programs that comply with local and federal regulations, ensure that facilities are maintained, manage and support all staff, communicate proactively with parents, assist with possible incidents, and manage the online registration system.

Primary Responsibilities
Leadership and Management
- Oversee the operations, administration, and strategic growth of the after school care program at Maumee Valley
- Manage all site instructors (potentially interviewing, hiring, and training)
- Facilitate communication with parents on-campus and through designated methods during working hours.
Program Development and QA:
- Ensure that all programs meet high standards of quality and compliance, align with the organization’s mission, and respond to the needs of the communities served.
Operations and Compliance
- Overseeing day-to-day operations, preparations, meetings, and all other job responsibilities
- Ensure student safety throughout the program
- Ensure effective student pick-up and drop-off
- Participate in all required trainings before the start of program
- Work with supervisors for tasks associated with child care licensing in your designated region
- Communicate regularly with supervisors and perform tasks as needed by supervisors
Educational & Experiential Requirements
- Associate, bachelor, master, or doctoral or other post- graduate degree in child development, early childhood education or related field approved by the Ohio department of job and family services (ODJFS) from an accredited college, university or technical college required OR must meet alternative requirement listed under Ohio administrator’s qualifications -
- Previous experience teaching required, particularly with school age children
- Experience managing people required
Certifications and Licensing Requirements
- Criminal background check required for hire
- Pediatric and Adult First Aid / CPR, First Aid required within 14 days after hire
- Must complete all state-required training as needed once in the position, a manager will support you in determining the completion date for each training in accordance with guidelines and your schedule
- Must complete a medical statement and provide written documentation of current immunizations once hired, a manager will support you in determining required specifications and completion dates
- Preference for previous experience with child care licensing
Technical Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities
- Must be 21 years of age
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a self-directed capacity, must be proactive, take ownership, and have a strong work ethic
- Demonstrated knowledge of the ability to follow specific instructions with little expertise
- Desire to work in a startup environment with new concepts and models
- Ability to adapt to working in varied/dynamic situations
