Position Overview:
J.A. Lillig Excavating is seeking a GPS Technician/Surveyor with expertise in site control, site layout, checking grade, machine grade control, GPS file building and experience with Trimble GPS.
Responsibilities:
Conduct site control surveys to establish precise reference points and markers for construction projects
Perform site layout duties to ensure accurate positioning of structures, roads, utilities, and other project elements according to design plans
Conduct grade checking activities to verify elevations and ensure adherence to project specifications
Implement machine grade control systems to facilitate efficient earthmoving and construction operations
Build and manage GPS files, including data collection, processing, and organization, to support project requirements
Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure seamless integration of GPS technology into project workflows.
Maintain and calibrate GPS equipment to ensure optimal performance and accuracy
Provide training and support to field personnel on GPS technology and procedures
Requirements:
Experience as a GPS Technician/Surveyor
Proficiency with Trimble GPS systems and software
Strong understanding of surveying principles, techniques, and equipment
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
