Job Description:

Founded in 2008, J C Porter Construction is a Baltimore based General Contractor providing quality construction, design-build services & construction management for public, private and nonprofit enterprises. J C Porter is one of the leading full-service general contractors in the Mid-Atlantic region.

J C Porter Construction is interested in hiring a qualified Superintendent to oversee commercial construction projects.

Responsibilities include:

• Read and interpret contract documents to ensure that all facets of the work are being performed accordingly.
• Carpentry skills required
• Managing day-to-day activities on-site to ensure that project milestones and overall completion dates are met.
• Coordinating and scheduling subcontractors in an orderly fashion to meet the contract requirements and schedule
• Quality control to ensure corrective action takes place to meet the contract requirements
• Forecast and communicate any issues effectively with the Project Manager
• Communicate effectively with the subcontractors and client
• Administering client and company specific programs such as Safety Plans
• Maintaining daily paperwork such as time sheets, daily field reports, email correspondences, and schedule updates

Qualifications:

• A working knowledge of civil, structural, architectural, electrical, and mechanical work.
• Self-starter, Proactive, and Schedule Oriented
• Basic computer knowledge required (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Carpentry skills required
• Able to provide own transportation
• Salary commensurate with experience

General Information:

J C Porter Construction Superintendents sometimes run multiple jobs at a time. Crews work 40 hours per week, some off hours depending on scheduling.
