Role Summary: Collaborates with senior public relations team members to execute objectives and strategies outlined in the client’s PR Plan. This role is focused on media relations services and supports client relations and administrative duties where needed. Under the supervision of their manager, the Account Executive will be responsible for managing 1-2 small accounts or projects including pro-bono work. Candidates must have financial public relations experience.

Office Requirements:

• If the candidate is New Jersey-based: The candidate is required to work in the New Jersey office two times a week. The physical offices are closed on Mondays and Fridays. Additionally, the candidate must work in the New York City office at least two times a month.
• If the candidate is New York-based: The candidate is required to work in the New York City office two times a week. The physical offices are closed on Mondays and Fridays. Additionally, the candidate must work in the New Jersey office at least two times a month.

Responsibilities:

Media Relations:

• Identifies and secures an array of media placement for clients
• Develops and maintains relationships with all media outlets including trades, broadcast, and national media
• Supports as a media pitcher across the team’s accounts
• Assists in the development of portions of strategic PR plans and campaign development
• Monitors, identifies, and secures appropriate editorial calendar opportunities for clients

Administrative Support:

• Supports Account Coordinator and interns with reviewing and/or developing media analysis reports and distributing client media mentions
• Supports Account Coordinator with maintaining call notes, agendas, project trackers, and client update communications
• Assists internal team members with other clients, business development, and Company projects

Client Service:

• Functions as a general point of contact (for clients and internally)
• Participates in new client onboarding including developing agendas for discovery meetings/calls

Writing:

• Develops unique story angles and timely pitches to generate consistent client exposure
• Drafts press releases, award nominations, social media posts, and other client-related materials

Company Ambassador:

• Acts as a steward of the JConnelly brand, consistently representing and reflecting the Company’s core values, approach, and high standards of excellence in all clients, media, and public interactions

Performs other duties as assigned

Education: College degree; or equivalent related business experience

Experience & Expertise:

• Minimum 1-2 years successful industry-related experience
• Financial public relations experience is required
• Demonstrated ability to organize/prioritize work, handle details accurately, follow up with minimum supervision, and complete tasks within specified deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills
• Proficiency with various software applications including the full Office suite, as well as social media channels
• Experience in PR-related software including but not limited to Cision, Meltwater, Sprout, Hootsuite, etc.
