Description
We are looking to add a Medical Services Director to our team! This leader plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates resource and quality management services, departments, and programs, such as Quality Assurance, Utilization Review, Infection Control, Case Management, and Admissions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following;
Top 5 Duties:
  • Promote and communicate Balance Autism's mission, vision and core values in interactions with others(person served, staff, families, legal guardians, business contacts, members of the community, and governmental agencies) to ensure excellent education and outreach
  • Ensures the health, safety and compliance requirements for the person served are met.
  • Organizes, directs, manages, and coordinates various programs, and services related to managing resources, assuring quality services and managing cases to ensure excellent fiscal management.
  • Designs and reviews policies and procedures related to quality management such as methods of data collection, outcome performance measures, chart review procedures, case analysis methods, and critical pathways analysis for outstanding data-driven decisions.
  • Oversees the nursing staff, Certified Medication Aides, and other Nursing staff. Works collaboratively with DMACC,SWCC and other leaders to schedule prospective CMA's in Certified Medication Aide classes. Collaborates with other leaders to ensure proper training, shadowing, and monitoring of AAs and Certified Medication Aides for excellent health care outcomes.
Other Responsibilities may include:
  • Coordinates activities and acts as liaison with Department of Human Services, Department of Inspections and Appeals and regulatory or review bodies. Understands, meets and exceeds medical regulations pertaining to an Intermediate Care Facility for Intellectual Disability (ICF/ID) and Iowa Medicaid Enterprise (IME) and Managed Care Organizations (MCOs)
  • Develops cooperative relationships with other medical providers and community agencies to pursue goals related to case management, utilization review, and quality care.
  • Works with Information Systems staff to enhance data collection, analysis, reporting, and monitoring.
  • Provides consultation, feedback, and recommendations to service providers and staff on resource utilization and adherence to quality standards.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience: Fifth-year college or university program certificate; or Bachelor degree with four years related the experience in all disciplines; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Current Iowa Registered Nursing License in good standing; Current BLS certificate; Maintains a current Registered Nursing license in good standing and CPR/First Aid Instructor Certified certification
