The Chargeback Specialist is responsible for evaluating disputed credit card transactions. In this position, the chargeback specialist’s duties are to investigate disputes, look for documentation of a purchase, determine whether there was fraud, and validate the chargeback if appropriate. The chargeback specialist will also work with hotel leadership to ensure their record-keeping is adequate.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and corrects daily cleared lines for negative accepted chargeback amounts.
• Applies accurate error code and chargeback text notes to accounts as necessary.
• Audits end of month chargebacks and reviews chargebacks requested, accepted, and denied amounts are accurate.
• Creates chargeback credit and reconciliation reporting for end of month reviews.
• Track and resolves chargeback denials for monthly reporting.
• Serves as a point of contact for reviewing chargebacks on accounts and assisting in proactive fraud prevention.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications, particularly with Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent documentation and organizational skills to keep all records related to a dispute in order.
• Ability to keep up with multiple ongoing projects.
• Well-developed analytical and decision-making skills to research credit and/or debit card disputes in order to make accurate and appropriate decisions based on the findings.
